After seven years of having my lovely traditional lock I decided that I was ready for a change. I originally began taking down my Traditional locs in March, but I gave up a couple of times because it is a difficult process. After speaking to Pat Hunley, Certified Sisterlocks Consultant, she told me about an incredible flossing tool used to take down locs.. On May 24, 2008 I began to take down at least 20 per day. I completed the strenous task on May 29. I used a flossing tool purchased at Walmart and a three-way mirror, I also cut atleast 10 inches of my traditional locs first. I can honestly say that this something that I would never do again, it was absolutely exhausting. On Monday May 30 I began my Sisterlocks journey, I completed the front half of my hair by Wednesday morning. I did not find it overly difficult to do just time consuming. On Friday, Pat Hunley, Certified Sisterlocks Consultant graciously helped me with my journey. She completed half of the back of my head and then I discovered that she had a great three-way mirror. I borrowed the three-way mirror and completed the back of my hair. Thank God for Pat and the three-way mirror. I always felt as if I could have done my entire head alone if I had a three-way mirror. I am excited about my new Sisterlocks Journey, I am falling more in love with them everyday. Enjoy !
